Susie Casady

BLOOMFIELD - Susie K. Casady, 97, of 1904 Greenwood Drive in Ottumwa died at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1888, in Van Buren County to James and Roseanna Ritz Russell. She married Artie Casady on Sept. 22, 1909. He died on March 8, 1971.

A former Bloomfield resident, she was a member of the Christian Church, a former Rebekah and a member of the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Viola Carnes of Ottumwa, and Mildred Peel and Irene Lazenby of Fayetteville, Ark.; a son, Artie H. of Tipton; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating.

Burial will be in the Troy Cemetery in Troy.

Visitation is open.
