R. Manning funeral Friday

RICHLAND - Robert A. Manning, 68, of Richland, died Wednesday morning at his daughter's home at Packwood.

Manning was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Van Buren County, the son of Harry and Ada Mae Kirkhart Manning. He married Addie Hall Oct. 12, 1944, in Moline, Ill. She preceded him in death Aug. 20, 1984.

He had lived in Jefferson County for 36 year and had retired from Carter Steel in Oskaloosa. He had attended the Methodist Church at Douds.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth of Lakeside, Calif., Ray of Washington, and Roger of Sunnyvale, Calif.; three daughter, Betty Cloke of Fairfield, Shari Breuer, Mount Pleasant, and Phyllis Rickert of Packwood; 17 grandchildren and a sister, Helen Ridgeway of LeClaire.

Including his wife, Manning was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and a sister.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Sid Martin officiating. Friends may call at their convenience beginning noon Thursday. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery at Richland.

A memorial has been established.
