Esther E. Knapp

Mrs. Esther E. Knapp, 70, of Raritan, Ill., died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the McDonough District Hospital, Macomb, Ill.

Born Feb. 1, 1916, at Bonaparte, she was the daughter of Walter and Birdie Beck Neally. She married Dick Knapp Aug. 23, 1940, at Fulton, Mo.

She moved to Monmouth, Ill., as a young child. She had resided in the Raritan community since 1941.

Surviving are her husband, Dick; two sons, Jim Knapp, Rockford, Ill., and John Knapp, Raritan; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Blystone, Shabbona, Ill., and Mrs. Doris (Delmar) Streight, Monmouth; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon today until 9 a.m. Thursday at the Corman Memorial Home, Roseville, Ill., and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the Raritan Baptist Church.

Services for Mrs. Knapp will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Raritan Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Brown and the Rev. Paul Holder officiating. Burial will be in Raritan Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Henderson County Retirement Center and the Stronghurst Ambulance Service.
