Mrs. Joseph A. Hall.

Mary Cathrine Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rhine was born April 7, 1837 at Gallipolis, Ohio, died at her home in Milton, la., Feb 3, 1912 at 3:45 p.m. being 74 years 9 months and 26 days of age.

At the age of 12 years with her parents she came to Missouri, settling in Schuyler County near Lancaster

She was united in marriage with Joseph A. Hall, May 1, 1856. To this union twelve children were born, Matilda C., wife of J. W. Ellis, Samuel D., Elias J., Stockport, la., Judge Joseph H., Moberly, Mo., Albert F. Queen City, Mo., Chas. L., Ben J., and Susie E. (twins) the latter dying in infancy, Mollie A., wife of Dr. W. A. Potter, of Lancaster Mo., and Frankie G., wife of F. E. Campbell, Theodore E. and J. C. Arthur, of Milton, Ia. Besides the above there is one stepson, William P., of Hamilton, Montana. Also a foster daughter, Mrs, W. E. Tatman of this place who lived with them 16 years.

She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church holding membership at Mt. Zion.

She leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband, children and a number of grand children, a half brother Theodore Rhine, of Oklahoma, a half sister Amanda Smith, of Keosauqua, Iowa, and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at the family residence in Milton, Monday, February 5th at 2 p. m., conducted by Rev. O. G. Orcutt. Interment was at the Sunnyside Cemetery.

The seven sons acted as paul bearers.

She was a loving mother and lived for her family.

All of the children were present except one step son, W. P. Hall, of Hamilton, Montana, and Albert J., of Queen City, Mo.

Thus another good woman has left us, another home is broken, another chair is vacant. But what is earth's loss is heaven's gain.
