Warren G. Cox, 51, of Eldon Route 1 died at 5:22 p.m. Sept 12 in St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born April 12, 1930, in Van Buren County to Leslie E. and Edith Oosthoek Cox. A resident of Eldon since 1972, he worked for John Morrell and Co. for 25 years. He was a farmer and a truck driver for the last two years. He served with the U.S. Marines in the Korean conflict. He attended Eldon Christian Church. He married Dorothy Carnes Nov. 17, 1967.

Survivors: his wife; mother of Eldon; step-daughter Connie Van Niewaal of Chariton; stepson Kevin Palmer of Eldon; nine stepgrandchildren; sisters Wanda Clarke of Davenport and Wilma Marsh of Kansas City, Kans.; and brothers Wayne of Keosauqua and Willis of Eldon.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Earl Menning of his church officiating.

Burial: Kilbourn (Iowa) Cemetery.

Pallbearers” Tom Sloan, Gale Alexander, Ralph Lawson, Darrell Davis, Larry Downing, and Bob Warren.

Military services will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post 3 of the American Legion.
