George LaVerne Bartholow, 74, of Route 1, died this morning at his home.
He was born March 31, 1912, in Stockport, the son of George E and Carrie Wilson Bartholow. He married Margaret Courtney Sept. 19, 1937, in Lancaster, Mo., and had been a resident of Fairfield since 1938.
Bartholow retired from George's Battery and Electric in January 1976. He was a member of First Christian Church, Lions Club, Masons and White Shrine.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Saundra Bloomquist of Rapid City, S.D., and Karen Bartholomew of Aurora, Colo.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother in infancy.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Goins officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held at the cemetery.
Memorials may be left to First Christian Church or the Cancer Fund.
