Rites set for Weltha Hammer

DOUDS - Weltha B. Hammer, 81, of Silver Spring, Md., died Sunday at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, Md.

The body will arrive Tuesday night at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.

Mrs. Hammer, the daughter of James and Dora Barthelow, grew up in the West Union neighborhood between Douds and Birmingham. She was a longtime employee of the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by her husband, Fred.
