FAIRFIELD - Hazel Stever Leech, 91, longtime Fairfield resident died at 12:20 p.m. Jan. 12, 1986, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

She was born May 4, 1894, near Salina to Oscar and Emma Stromquist Stever. She married Victor D. Leech on Nov. 28, 1917, in Fairfield. She was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, WSCS, Bonhami Club, Hospital Women's Auxiliary and Philathea Class. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1914 and was a rural school teacher for four years.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, John of Drengo, Colo., Eugene of Salt Lake, Utah, and Robert of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a daughter, Mary R. Umby of Big Fork, Mon.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Teal of Keosauqua and Mildred Dekalb of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by a son.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Parkview Care Center or the First United Methodist Church.
