ROY C. BLACK

Roy C. Black, 70, of Crawfordsville, died Thursday, March 6, at Merch Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born July 30, 1915, in Jefferson County, to Harry R. and Laura Hummell Black. He married Mildred H. Crawford on March 15, 1941, in Fairfield.

He was a retired farmer, farming most of his life near Olds. He was a member of Olds United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, Crawfordsville; his mother, Larua Black, Ottumwa; one son, Larry Allen, Mt. Pleasant, Rt. 5; two brothers, Harry and Robert both of Ottumwa; two sisters, Ruth Keller, Cantril, and Nellie McAllister, Elvaston, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Black will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Olds United Church of Christ with the Rev. Jonna Jansen officiating. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery, northeast of Olds.

A memorial to Olds United Church of Christ has been established.
