Marie Roberts

Marie Roberts, daughter of Frank and Rose Saar Roberts, was born Feb. 3, 1900 in Van Buren County and died Dec. 30, 1985 in Knoxville, Iowa at the age of 85.

She lived in Cantril most of her life and worked at the telephone office for many years. After retirement she made her home with a sister, Catherine Hamm, and had lived the past 10 years in Knoxville.

Surviving are a brother, Craig Roberts, Memphis, Mo., a sister, Ruth Carruthers, Fort Myers, Fla. and nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Cantril United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held Jan. 5, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril, with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Arrangements were in charge of Williams Funeral Home, Knoxville.
