Betty L. Arnold

Betty L. Arnold, daughter of Wilbert and Lucille Roberts Huffman, was born July 1, 1929 in Ottumwa and departed this life the afternoon of Saturday, December 6, 1986 at Ottumwa Regional Health Care Center at the age of 57.

She grew up in Keosauqua and graduated from Keosauqua High School. She was a disaster chairman of the Van Buren County Chapter, American Red Cross, and a member of the Women's Bowling Congress. Betty had been employed at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Van Buren Good Samaritan Center and the Keosauqua Bowling Alley. She was an avid bowler and sports fan.

She married Earl Arnold April 16, 1949 in Keosauqua where they have lived their married life.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Kathy Anderson, Des Moines; a son, Randy, Keosauqua, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother of Keosauqua, four brothers, Jack Huffman in Florida, Jerry Huffman, Aurora, Illinois, and James and Joe Huffman, both of Keosauqua. Her father and a brother, Donald preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 8, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Don Morrison officiating. Interment was in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for the Van Buren County Chapter, American Red Cross.
