Edward Loynachan

OSKALOOSA - Edward C. Lynachan, 75, died Feb. 23, 1986, at Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.

He was born Aug. 10, 1910, on a farm near Knoxville to Clark C. and Bertha Rouze Loynachan. He married Inez Mae Berry on Feb. 9, 1969, in Osage Beach, Mo. She died Feb. 10, 1984. He was a graduate of Knoxville High School and the University of Iowa. He served in the Pacific during World War II. Before becoming ill with cancer, he was promotional manager for Remand Inc. of Denver, Colo. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa.

He is survived by a daughter, Jan King of Marshalltown; a stepson, Gary Berry of Douds; a stepdaughter, Sandra Schuttlefield of Hedrick; a granddaughter; several stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Marshall of Adel and Carmen Becker of Oskaloosa; and his first wife, Lucille Loynachan of Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Don Loynachan; and a sister, Eunice Wright.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa, the Revs. David Becker of Palouse, Wash., and Charles Collisson of Oskaloosa officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Oskaloosa or the Charles Becker Scholarship Fund at First Presbyterian Church.

Garland Van Arkel Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
