Melva Lorraine Andrews

Funeral services for Melva Lorraine Andrews, 66, a resident of the Fountain West Care Center, Des Moines, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Fort Madison. The Rev. Robert McAleer will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Andrews died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at the care center. She had been in failing health since October 1984 and seriously ill one week.

She was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Fort Madison. She moved to Des Moines in 1958 and was a retired bookkeeper for the Des Moines Cold Storage Co. She was of the Catholic faith.

On Nov. 11, 1938, at Kahoka, Mo., she was married to Ralph Virgil Andrews, who died Jan. 12, 1953.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George (Patricia) Boring, Keosauqua, Mrs. James (Bonnie) Hultman, Des Moines, and Mrs. Steven (Kay Lynn) Tucker, Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, R.E. Brown, Washington, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents were Arthur and Marie Tottenhoff Brown.

The body is at the Barr Memorial Chapel were(err) friends may call this afternoon and evening, where the family will meet friends from 7 to 8 this evening and where the parish rosary will be recited.
