J. Lindsay Erhardt

A memorial service for J. Lindsay Erhardt, 73, of 302 Ballard, West Burlington, who died Monday, Feb. 3, will be held at the West Burlington United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. John Cornish officiating. A Masonic service will be held at the same time.

Memorials have been established at the Lunning Chapel for the Des Moines County Conservation Board and the West Burlington United Methodist Church.

Mr. Erhardt was born at Milton Jan. 18, 1913, to Carl and Laura Lindsay Erhardt. He married Betty Clendenen Feb. 11, 1939, at Lancaster, Mo.

Mr. Erhardt had been a barber for half a century. He was a graduate of the Davenport Barber College. He was a former member of the West Burlington City Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving: His wife; five daughters, Mary Ann Ough, Dallas, Texas, Peggy Gray, Tucson, Ariz., Judy Watson, Wheaton, Ill., and Pamela Doyle and Jane Rippenkroeger, both of Burlington; a brother Carl Erhardt, Dallas, Texas; four sisters, Clare Maiers, Altoona, Pa., Margaret Martin, Lombard, Ill., Miriam Wilson, Milton, and Lucille Barker, Des Moines; seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
