Rick Timmerman II rites set Wednesday

A 13-year-old rural Fairfield boy died Sunday afternoon in a farm-work-related accident in a barn.

Charles R. "Rick" Timmerman II, Route 3, was pronounced dead at 3:42 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. Further details about the death were unavailable.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling and working with machinery. Timmerman was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Janean; and a brother, Frederick, all at home. Also surviving are grandparents Orval and Ellen Timmerman, and Wilma Benge, all of Fairfield.

The funeral for Timmerman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Duane Olsen and the Rev. David Kennedy officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library.

Death ruling

Jefferson County Medical Examiner Terry Sutton said Tuesday the hanging death of a 13-year-old boy Sunday was accidental and that the boy got tangle in a rope used to raise a wagon.

The accident, which claimed the life of Charles R. "Rick" Timmerman II occurred in an out-building shop on his family's farm.
