JAMES L. LANCASTER
James L. Lancaster, 72, died very suddenly Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 22 at his home, west of Milton.
He was born Nov. 10, 1895, the son of John and Mina Hardman Lancaster. On June 2, 1921 he married Golda Tysor.
He was a barber in Ottumwa for many years and a member of the American Legion in Ottumwa.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Donald Leroy and a daughter, Clarice Rosemary Ford, all of Milton; three brothers, Dewey, Wesley and Leslie, all of Oskaloosa; one sister, Elsie Bever of Hedrick; three grandchildren, Nick Lancaster and Debra Sue and Marty Ford.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Milton Christian Church with H. Harold Bray officiating, assisted by Kenneth Campbell of Memphis. Burial was in the Sunnyside cemetery.
