Lloyd Reid Services Nov. 1; Superintendent Of Schools In Area

Funeral services for Lloyd Reid, 84, Sheffield, Ill., father of Richard Reid, Tipton, were held at Sheffield Nov. 1 with the Rev. John Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Sheffield cemetery.

Mr. Reid died at Cedar Manor Oct. 30.

The son of Joseph and Emma Clark Reid, he was born in Clayton, Ill. July 6, 1901. He was married to Florence Wood in Sheffield July 27, 1927.

He taught and coached at Hamilton and Sheffield, Ill. and Maquoketa and Delma. He was superintendent of schools at Delma, Lost Nation, Farmington, Wilton, Elwood and LeClaire and was principal of the Neponset, Ill. grade school until his retirement in 1962. He had lived in Sheffield since 1958.

He was a member of Ames Lodge #142, AF&AM, Sheffield and the Moline Consistory. He was a former board member of the Iowa High School Athletic association.

He is survived by 2 sons, Richard, Tipton and Kenneth, Bonapart(e); a daughter, Mrs. John (Diane) Peterson, Plainfield, Ill.; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Chris (Greta) Walker, Quincy, Ill. and a brother, J. Oren Reid, LaGrande, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife and 3 brothers.
