Villa Holt

Former Milton resident, Villa Holt of Ft. Madison died Oct. 16, 1985 at University Hospital in Iowa City. She had been in failing health for two weeks.

The daughter of Charles and Elsa Seamster Groves, Mrs. Holt was born on July 26, 1904 at Milton. She married Homer Holt on Nov. 24, 1921 and he died Sept. 19, 1984. During the 30's they lived on a farm south of Milton but most of their married life was spent in Ft. Madison where she was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Buford Holt, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Raymond Holt, Donnellson; a daughter, Mrs. William (Juanita) Cullen, Ft. Madison; a sister, Mrs. Florence Gibbons, Covina, Calif., 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters and her parents.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Ft. Madison.
