FAIRFIELD - Katharyn L. Parks, 63, of 406 S. Court in Fairfield died at 12:40 a.m. May 6, 1985, at Jefferson County Hospital.
She was born May 19, 1921, five miles southwest of Libertyville to Charles E. and Pearl A. McClain Pearson. She grew up around Libertyville and graduated from Libertyville High School in 1938.
She has been a Fairfield resident since the early 1940s, and worked as a secretary at Harper Bruch Works and Jefferson County Savings and Loan. She also worked at the federal land bank and at Simmons & Simmons Law Office.
She married Paul F. Parks April 28, 1945, in Des Moines, and he survives. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville.
She is also survived by one brother, Glenn Pearson of Libertyville; five sisters, Grace Frazier of Humeston, Nellie Davisson and Beulah Pearson, both of Fairfield, Gladys Bachmann of Milton and Florence Horn of Pulaski; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ditter of Laguna Beach, Calif.; and one brother-in-law, Wahl Parks of Fairfield.
The service tentatively is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church of Libertyville or to the American Cancer Society.
