Mary E. Hill

Mary E. Hill, daughter of Samuel and Maude Cole Locke was born March 10, 1895 near Birmingham and died the morning of Thursday, May 2, 1985 at Maple Leaf Care Center in Mt. Pleasant at the age of 90. Mary taught school as a young person. Most of her life was spent in the Douds community.

Remaining are a daughter, Genevieve Harris and her husband, Homer, of Ruskin, Fla., four grandchildren, Linda Cairns, Carolyn Manke, Steven Jacobs, and Pamela Vroom, six great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Two sisters, Edith Talbot and Maude Robertson preceded her in death.

Mary attended Zion Bible Church near Douds.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 4, 1985 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with Rev. Walter Shuka officiating. Interment was in Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.
