MILTON - Dale W. Gilchrist, 69, of Milton died at 9:10 a.m. Oct. 20, 1985, at Davis County Hospital.

He was born April 27, 1916, in Estherville to George Iris and Bessie Bell Goodge Gilchrist. He was a farmer and had been a Van Buren County resident since 1954. He married Macel Walsh on Sept. 18, 1939, in Oskaloosa.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Loretta Robinson of Keosauqua and Phyllis More of Drakesville; a son, Tim of Milton; seven grandchildren; his father of Solway, Minn.; a sister, Nellie Schmidt of Solway; and three brothers, Clifford and Delmar of Solway, and Elvin of Bemidji, Minn.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation is open at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
