Alpha Loar

TROY - former Troy resident Alpha Warren Loar, 74, of Carson City, Nev., died May 30, 1985, at Reno, Nev.

He was born June 27, 1910, in Selma to Bertie Warren and Alta Steel Loar. He was a retired correctional officer with the Nevada State Prison system, where he had worked for many years.

He is survived by two sons, James of Phoenix, Ariz., and David of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Jeanne Wineteer of Hayward, Calif., and Etta Mae Evans of Eugene, Ore.; two sisters, Alene Barker of Bloomfield and Anna Hopkins of Pulaski; and five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The service was held Tuesday at Carson City. Burial was in Lone Mountain Cemetery at Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley of Carson City was in charge of arrangements.
