META ST. JOHN

Meta St. John, daughter of John and Helen Clark Lyle, was born March29, 1898 in Keokuk and departed this life early the morning of Monday, August 5, 1985 at West Point Care Center in West Point at the age of 87.

She attended school in Bonaparte and had lived in Bonaparte, Farmington, and Keosauqua as well as spending some winters in Arizona. She had resided at the care center since 1980.

At the age of 55, she returned to school and took a course in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in Keokuk Hospital for several years.

Her husband, Thomas St. John, her parents and a brother, Kenneth Lyle, preceded her in death.

Distant relatives survive.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 1985 in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua, with Rev. Bob Paterson of the Keosauqua Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Purdom Cemetery with Pedrick Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
