Darrilyn Jean Blakley, 81, went home to Heaven Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Kennybrook Village in Grimes. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Iles Westover Chapel. Burial will take place in Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Darrilyn was born July 26, 1934 in Birmingham, IA to J. Arthur and Verla (Brewer) Williams. She graduated Birmingham High School and attended business college in Ottumwa. She had worked for Sears Credit, and was an executive secretary for Rockwell International in Fairfield, Darrilyn was an Ordained Deacon and Co-Pastor in the Free Methodist Church. In 1995 she moved to the Des Moines area and joined Lutheran Church of Hope. Her heart was with people, and she was passionate about sharing Christ with others. Darrilyn was a friend to many and available to all. She enjoyed quilting, horses, reading, music, motorcycles and conversations.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Blakley; children: Shirley (Cy) Winters of North Port, FL, Tom (Nina) Lisk of Oro Valley, AZ, Judy (Kevin) Waycaster of Waukee, Ted (Megan) Blakley of Ramsey, MN, Lynn (Gary) Fryrear of Stronghurst, IL, Marlene (Wilson) Starnes of Fairfield, IA; 15 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings: Dixie (Johnny) Krause of Inman, SC, Bonnie (Ron) Jannings of Amarillo, TX, Regan (Sue) Williams of Bonner Springs, KS, Vickie (Don) Swartout of Kalama, WA. Darrilyn was preceded in death by her brother Duane Williams, and infant sister, Connie.
