Twylah D. Snider

Twylah D. Snider, age 86, former Fairfield resident died at 1 a.m. Friday, July 12, 1985 at St. Bernadine Hospital in San Bernardino, California.

She was born January 21, 1899 in Stockport. The daughter of Joseph and Ingaba Morris Downard. She married Jay C. Snider on April 13, 1918 in Davenport, he died on November 23, 1964. Twylah was a telephone operator for United Telephone Co. in Fairfield for 42 years before her retirement. She was a member of American Association of Retired People and the American Legion Auxiliary (Gold Star Mother) in Fairfield. She enjoyed tracing genealogy.

She is survived by three children: Carl Snider of Elmhurst, Illinois, Diane Snider of Los Angeles, California, and Daphne Cupp of Manassas, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister.

Graveside rites for Twylah D. Snider were Wednesday morning at Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.
