Theodore Watson

STOCKPORT Theodore "Ted" K. Watson, 54, of Stockport died at 4 a.m. Sept. 1, 1985, at Burlington Medical Center in Burlington.

He was born March 22, 1931 in Stockport to Ray Rex and Bonnie DeWitt Watson. He married Martha Jean Lynn on June 14, 1952, in Eureka, Calif. He was a lifetime resident of the Stockport community. He owned and operated Van Buren Realty in Stockport and farmed near town. He was a past patron of Stockport Chapter 544 Order of Eastern Star, and member of the Iowa Product Development Corp., Small Business Administration Board and Southeast Iowa Board of Realtors. He was chairman of the Van Buren County Republican Central Committee and member of the Workman Masonic Lodge 634 A.F. and A.M. in Stockport, Clinton Chapter 9, R.A.M., Ottumwa Council 31, R.S.M., and Malta Commandry 31, K.T., Knights of the York Cross of Honor in Ottumwa, and the Kaaba Temple of the Shrine.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Scott of Fort Madison; two daughters, Susan Watson of Madison, Wis., and Melissa Watson of Stockport; and two grandchildren.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stockport United Methodist Church, the Rev. Duane Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport. Workman Masonic Lodge 364 will have Masonic rites at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children.
