Bob Harness

BIRMINGHAM - Bob E. Harness, 72, of Birmingham died at 5:40 a.m. Oct. 19, 1985, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born Nov. 10, 1912, in Van Buren County to Mack and Claudia Fickle Harness. He lived in Birmingham all his life and was a self-employed trucker for 40 years. He was a member of the Birmingham Lions Club. He married Mary Louise Rynas on June 2, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Robert of Birmingham and Richard of Ottumwa; a daughter, Marjean Shott of Fairfield; seven grandchildren; a brother, Dick of Fairfield; and a sister, Wilda Corry of Birmingham.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham, the Rev. Duane Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Friends may call today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund or Birmingham First Responders.
