Vernie M. Eichelberger

Services for Vernie M. Eichelberger, 72, of Colchester, Ill., who died at 5:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 7, 1985 at McDonough District hospital were held Thursday, May 9, 1985 at Jones Mortuary Chapel in Colchester.

He was born August 20, 1912 in Kahoka, Mo., the son of L.B. and Ella Justice Eichelberger. He married Mary L. Osborn on March 19, 1943, in Memphis, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are four sisters, Beatrice Stull of Dalton city, Ill., Opal Thomas of Memphis, Mo., Bethel Pritchard of Houston, Mo. and Rachel Brewer of Keosauqua.

He lived previously in Memphis, Mo. and Fountain Green, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a partner of Argyle Lake Marine, and had operated the Shell station in Colchester. He was a member of the Untied(err) Methodist Church and the Macomb VFW 1921.

The Rev. William Van Meter and Rev. Ernest Louderman officiated with burial at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Macomb. Pallbearers were his nephews: Ronald Ellrick, Eugene Watkins, La Verne Stott, Leland Stott, Charles Brewer and Jack Wilson.
