Myrtle M. Denning
Mrs. Myrtle M. Denning, 53, rural Augusta, died Wednesday, May 1, at University Hospital, Iowa City.
she was born to Ralph A. and Annie Nadine Basquin on Oct. 30, 1920, at Strawberry Point. She married James T. Denning on Oct. 27, 1956, at Oquawka; he died April 29, 1984.
Mrs. Denning retired in 1973 from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving: Four daughters, Mrs. Juanita Ochiltree, Oakville, Marguerita Palar, Burlington, Carol Glasgow, Donnellson, and Julie Shumate, rural Augusta; five sons, Gene Green, Denmark, Jim Green, Gary Green and Ronnie Green, all of Burlington, and Monte Green, Farmington; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Basquin, Sperry; two sisters, Dottie Davis, Burlington, and Alda Kendall, Sperry.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Burlington Funeral Home, the Rev. David Seitz; Memorial Park Cemetery. Women of the moose service will be at the chapel. A memorial has been established.
