Marie Ellis

FAIRFIELD - Marie Ellis, 69, of Fairfield died at noon Oct. 16, 1985 at her home.

She was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Mount Zion to Ray and Linnette Slutts Barnett. She married Charles G. Ellis on Aug. 5, 1935, in Mount Pleasant. He died March 11, 1982. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her father of Fairfield; two daughters, Shirley Jean Simmons and Frances Louise McMann of Fairfield; a son, Donald G. Ellis of Fairfield; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lex Barnett of Fairfield, James Barnett of Fairfield and Robert Barnett of Mount Pleasant; and six sisters, Georgia Ellis of Keota, Leona Sanderson of Hillsboro, Beulah Shillings of Fairfield, Margaret Workman of Eldon, Mary Faught of Fort Madison and Charlotte Wallerich of Danville.

Family visitation is from 7-8 p.m. today at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Graveside rites will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillsboro Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Kaufman officiating.
