Neal Jacobs

BIRMINGHAM - Neal E. Jacobs, 81, 1986 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born July 13, 1904 in Washington County to Mark and Nettie Elizabeth Baker Jacobs. He has lived in the Birmingham community since 1939, moving there from Washington. He was a feed grinder, and worked at the Eclipse Lumber Company until he retired. He was a past member of the Iowa National Guard with the 113 Armor Division at Washington. He married Iva Belle Davidson on June 4, 1934 in McComb, Ill.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sheila Jo Wicker of Norfolk, Va.; two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Ethel Bright of Rubio and Louisa Bell of Mount Pleasant.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Hal Geiger officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Birmingham Library.
