Floyd L. Brown dies suddenly

Services for Floyd L. Brown, 74, 1101 S. Seventh, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Behner Funeral Home with visitation following. Memorials may be made to the building fund of the First United Methodist Church.

Brown died suddenly Feb. 22 at the John LIncoln Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.

Floyd L. Brown was born Jan. 10, 1911, in Douds-Leando Community in Van Buren County. He was the son of Edward and Rose Canney Brown.

His marriage to Evelyn M. James took place Oct. 3, 1933, in Adel.

Brown has been a self-employed auto parts and supply salesman for Brown Sale Co. in Fairfield for 20 years.

He served as worshipful master of Triumph Masonic Ledge 479, AF&AM, in North English. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge serving as noble grand. He was a member of the Rotary Club, and served on the school board at North English.

He was a 32nd degree member of Clinton Masonic Lodge 15, AF&AM, and a member of Walter Club and First United Methodist Church.

Brown is survived by his widow; daughter, Bernice Driscoll, De Witt; two sons, Claude, Fairfield, and Steve, Keokuk. Also 11 grandchildren and a brother, Walter Brown, Granger, Texas.

FAIRFIELD - Floyd L. Brown, 74, of Fairfield died Feb. 22, 1985, at the John Lincoln Hosptial in Phoenix, Ariz.

He was born Jan., 10, 1911, in the Douds-Leando Community, to Edward and Rose Canny Brown. He married Evelyn M. James on Oct. 3, 1933, in Adell. He was a self-employed auto parts and supplies salesman for the Brown Sales Co. in Fairfield for 20 years. He was Worshipful Master of Triumph Masonic Lodge No. 479 AF and AM in North English and Oddfellows Lodge Noble Grand. He was a member of the Rotary Club, school board in North English, Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 15 AF and AM 32nd degree Mason, Trojan Booster Club, Walton Club and the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Bernice Driscoll of DeWitt; two sons Claude Brown of Fairfield and Steve Brown of Keokuk; 11 grandchildren and a brother, Walter Brown of Granger, Texas.
