John Winter

FAIRFIELD - John A. Winter, 70, of Fairfield died at 12:55 p.m. Jan. 30, 1985, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born June 28, 1914, at Fairfield to John E. and Elfie Dell LongerBone Winter. He married Esther Kirkpatrick on Dec. 19, 1936, at Birmingham. He live in Fairfield and worked as a traffic manager at the Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, JoAnn Winter of Fairfield and Linda Widmer of West Chester; two grandchildren including Riff Widmer who lived in the home; three sisters, Beatrice Crawford of Washington, Juanita Scott of New Castle, Wyo., and Freda Marr of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Russell of Libertyville and Unk of West Des Moines.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. James H. Battey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

Visitation is 6:40-8:30 p.m. Friday.

A memorial has been established to his church.
