George Edward Bonner

George Edward Bonner, 78, of Clinton, Iowa, originally from Keosauqua, died on Sunday, Sept. 9, 1984, in Jane Lamb Health Center, Clinton.

He was born in Van Buren County on Jan. 5, 1906, to Alpha and Mate Akey Bonner.

He married Verle Davis Oct. 2, 1927, in Sigourney, Iowa. She died in February 1971. He attended schools in Keosauqua, Iowa, coming to Clinton in 1929 where he owned and operated George Bonner Automotive Service Station for many years, retiring in 1969 where he owned and operated George Bonner Automotive Service Station for many years, retiring in 1969. He was a former member of Elks Club and a member of First United Methodist Church.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 1984 at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul O. Pfaltzgraff of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include nieces, cousins and nephews.
