Charles L. Parker

Charles L. Parker, son of Lee and Edda Shepard Parker, was born March 10, 1906, at Bladensburg and died the morning of Sunday, Nov. 18, 1984 at his home in Douds. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jefferson County Hospital, Fairfield.

On Dec. 23, 1926 he married Grace McDowell at Farson. She remains with their son, Kenneth of Batavia, their daughter, Willa Mae Ostrander of Hedrick, six grandchildren, Norma Tharp, Nancy McClure, Connie McKay, Dennis Ostrander, Larry Parker, and Douglas Ostrander. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was the last of a family of six children.

Charlie and Grace farmed near Bladensburg until retiring to Douds in 1976. He was a Methodist.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 1984 at 10 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds with Rev. Harold Harryman and Rev. chris Daniel officiating. Interment was in Batavia Cemetery. Memorials were established for Christ United Methodist Church and the Batavia Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds.
