Clara H. Stockton

Clara H. Stockton, 84, of Fort Madison, formerly of Farmington died Wednesday, May 30, 1984 at 1:30 a.m. at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 4, 1899 at Nauvoo, Ill. the daughter of Millard F. and Louella Hall Horton.

She married Carl A. Stockton Oct. 4, 1921 at Quincy, Ill.

She moved to Farmington from Argyle in 1971 having been a resident of Argyle for 31 years.

A former school teacher in Hancock County, Illinois and Lee County, Iowa, she was a member of the War Dads and Moms of Donnellson.

Surviving are five sons, Lyle Stockton of Argyle, Donald of Des Moines, Gerald of Japan, Robert of Marion, Iowa, and Carl Jr. of Duluth, Minn.; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one son, one brother, and four sisters.

The funeral was held Saturday, June 2, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Donnellson. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery. The Rev. Corwin Sanders officiated. A memorial to the Heart Fund was established at the Funeral Home.
