Dorothy Acton

Dorothy M. Acton, 63, of Ottumwa Route 2 died the morning of Dec. 9, 1984, at Henry County Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

She was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Davis County to Jim and Elizabeth Cudworth Snelling. She lived all her life in Selma and Ottumwa. She was charter member of the Methodist Church in Selma. She married John James Acton in October 1936 in Macon County, Mo.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, James J. of Denver, Iowa, and John S. of Lakewood, Colo.; one granddaughter and two stepgrandchildren; and her mother of Douds.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, the Rev. Dale Gray officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery near Eldon.
