DEATH OF B. F. SHEETS
B. F. Sheets, a former resident of Des Moines township, this county, who several years ago moved to Memphis, Mo., where his home had since been, died with the out-going of the old year. He was a splendid citizen, and hence was held in high esteem by all who knew him. We will probably be furnished an obituary for next week. The Memphis Reveille, date of January 2, said of him:
B. F. Sheets, an aged and respected citizen of our city, died of bowel trouble at the family home on Tuesday, December 31, at 6 o'clock p.m. The announcement of his demise came as a shock to friends who were unaware of his serious condition. He was taken ill after Christmas, but his condition did not become alarming until Monday of this week, since which time he was most critically ill. Despite skilled medical treatment and careful nursing on the part of the family death came and claimed a most worthy citizen as its own. Mr. Sheets was a man of splendid character--honest and upright in all the walks of life. He had resided in this city for a number of years, and was honored and respected by all who knew him. Funeral serices will be held today (Thursday) at the family home at 2:30 o'clock p.m.
