Charles Roy Mounce

Charles Roy Mounce, 81, of 95 Lualilo St., Wailukn, Maui, Hawaii, the son of Arthur H. and Ida May Cross Mounce, was born Sept. 25, 1902, at Cedar Rapids, and passed away Jan. 26, 1984 at a hospital in Maui.

He married Lue Smeby on August 14, 1929 in Maui. To this union two sons were born, Charles Warren and David.

Roy was a graduate of the Keosauqua High School and the University of Ames. He taught school at Donnellson and Graner. In the fall of 1928, he went to Maui, Hawaii, and taught school there. In a few yars (years) he became the administrator and principle at Baldwin and was there until his retirement.

He was very active in the Makawao Union Church of which he was a member.

He is survived by his wife, Lue and sons, Charles Warren Mounce and wife Patty, of Le Suewr, Minn., David Mounce and wife Charlotte of North Brook, Ill. Three grandsons and three great grandchildren, one sister, Lona Marguerite Bond of Syracruse, Inc., one sister-in-law, one niece and thre(e) nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Rex and Merle.

He was a faithful and loving husband, father and loved his grandchildren very much. He will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends. His wife, was the happiest when he was helping some one in needs.
