HELEN KING KECK

Helen King Keck, 82, rural Birmingham, Iowa, died Saturday, December 8, 1984 at 5:40 p.m. at the home of her son, David King.

She was born July 29, 1902 at Hillsboro, Iowa the daughter of Tyler Rose and Viola Belle Kennedy Hixson. She was married to Harry J. King on December 5, 1918, at the home of her parents in Cottonwood, Iowa, in Lee County. He died February 19, 1951. She married Otto J. Keck on August 10, 1952, at Bloomfield and he died January 20, 1971. She had spent her life in Lee and Van Buren counties.

Mrs. Keck is survived by one son, David King of Birmingham, five daughters, Joyce Anderson of Keosauqua, Opal Anderson of Redding, California, Duly Moore of Stockport, Doris Ramsey of Birmingham, and Nannette Holcomb of Agency. Also one brother, Ben Hixson of Douglas, Wyoming, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A nephew, Tyler Newbold of Quincy, Illinois was raised in the home.

Mrs. Keck was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Ladies Aid, Van Buren County Chapter DAR, and Twin City Chapter #258 Eastern Star of Douds. Mrs. Keck was a receptionist for Doctors Worrell and Furumoto of Keosauqua for a number of years.

Services for Mrs. Keck were held Wednesday, December 12, 1984, 1:30 p.m. at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with Reverend Glen Lochhead officiating. Interment was in Kilbourne Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Church.
