Hope Marie Anderson

Hope Marie Anderson, 52, of Birmingham, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 1984 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born Sept. 26, 1931, at Pittsburg, the daughter of John Walter and Letha Cole Scotton, and lived her entire life in Van Buren County. On April 17, 1949, in the Christian church parsonage at Keosauqua, she married Ross Anderson, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Janet Bonnett, and a son, Robert, both of Birmingham; two grandchildren; a brother, Paul Scotton of Farmington; seven sisters, Norma Ward of Farmington, Tilla Long, Lois Starnes, Mary Bell, Marty Barker, all of Keosauqua, Doris Snell of Wendon, Arizona, and Verna Robinson of Colorado. A daughter, her parents, and a sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Services for Mrs. Anderson were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, at the Birmingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial was in the Pittsburg Cemetery.

Memorials to her church and the Birmingham Library may be left at the Funeral Home.

Burch Funeral Home at Birmingham was in charge of arrangements.
