CAREY WILKIN DEAD
A telegram came to H. B. Sloan here Monday announcing the death of Carey Wilkin at Ontario, Oregon. No particulars of the death are known. It seems that the telegram was sent out from Ontario by Carey's attending physician to Carey's wife, who lives at Santa Ana, Calif., and forwarded by her to this place. Besides conveying the news of his death, the telegram made inquiry as to interment. From here word was sent to Carey's uncles at Burlington, Al. and Neil Wilkin, and they directed that the body be buried at Ontario, at least for the present.
Carey was the only son of the late Capt. A. Wilkin and was born here and here grew to manhood. For some years he was official court reporter for Judge Robert Sloan.
