Crown--At her home near Farmington, Wednesday, August 31, 1887, Mrs. Mary M. Crown, aged 81 years and 3 days.

Mary Magdalene Burrier was born in Maryland August 27, 1806, and removed with her parents to Ohio where she married Wm. Crown October 27, 1827. They removed to Iowa in 1841, and when Mr. Crown died some eleven years ago she moved to Farmington.

She was a faithful wife and mother, never tiring in her duties for those she loved. She had just celebrated her 81st birthday by a gathering of friends and children, each of whom remembered "grandma" with a birthday present.

Mrs. Crown was the mother of twelve children, of whom nine survive her as follows: Solomon, Martha, Male[?]the last letter of this name is unreadable], Wm. Henry, Julia, Joseph, John, Samantha and Austin. Soloman [sic] is in Salt Lake, Joseph in Kansas and Julia near Des Moines. The others reside in and about Farmington.

The funeral occurred at 2 p. m., Thursday, from the M. E. church, Rev. J. F. Barnett officiating, a large concourse following the remains to the cemetery.
