Ida W. Olheide

Ida W. Olheide, daughter of Fred and Augusta Jacobsmeyer Meyer, was born June 10, 1901 at Spanish Lake, Mo. and died Thursday, Jan. 5, 1984 in Ottumwa Manor, Ottumwa, at the age of 82.

On April 2, 1920 she married William Schewe in Black Jack, Mo. He died Jan. 9, 1925. On Nov. 2, 1927 she married Edward Olheide who died Sept. 30, 1964. An infant daughter, Marie, and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Remaining are her son, Wilmer Schewe and his wife, Fae, of Douds, Iowa, two granddaughters, Dr. Ruth McAndrews, Davenport, Iowa, and Dr. Mary Bossard, San Lorenzo, Calif., a grandson, Karl Schewe, Douds, a brother, Fred Meyer in Florida, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Olheide lived in the Black Jack, Mo. area until September, 1964 when she moved to Iowa to be near her son and his family. She resided in Fairfield five years and later in Agency. She had been a resident of Ottumwa Manor the past ten years.

Mrs. Olheide was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairfield and the Lutheran Ladies Circle.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, devoted to her church and the service of others.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 1984 at 11 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fairfield, with Rev. John Sattler, pastor officiating. Another service was held Monday, Jan. 9, 1984 at 11 a.m. in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Jack, Mo. with Rev. Floyd Stolzenburg, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Black Jack. Memorials were established for Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Hour radio broadcast.
