EDWARD CLYDE CRAMBLIT

Edward Clyde Cramblit, son of Andrew John and Dora Burge Cramblit, was born October 31, 1903 in Davis County and departed this life Tuesday, September 27, 1983, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 79.

As a boy he moved with his parents to a farm east of Bonaparte where he grew to manhood. As a young man, he went West where he worked as a prospector in several states and in shipyards in Oregon during World War II. He returned to Farmington in the late 1950's, where he had since made his home. He was a trader and a familiar figure at area auction sales.

Surviving are two sisters, Beatrice Poling of Muscatine and Mary Sweet of Bradford, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Lester of Fort Madison and Arthur of Farmington; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Chester and Beryl and by a sister, Hazel Evans.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 30, 1983, at 1 p.m. in the Farmington United Methodist Church with Rev. James Rozendaal officiating. Interment was in the Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Farmington United Methodist Church. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
