ELEANOR SIMMONS

Eleanor Simmons, 57, of Farmington died Tuesday, April 26, 1983 at 12:30 p.m. in the Burlington Medical Center.

Born July 24, 1925 at Donnellson, she was the daughter of Denver and Cora Junkins Kincaid.

She married Elvin Simmons, July 7, 1946 at Fort Madsion.

A resident of Farmington for 37 years, she was a buyer in the purchasing department of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Burlington.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Farmington and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are: one son, David of Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sheri) Lowery of Farmington; three brothers, Don and LeRoy Kincaid, both of Fort Madison, and Edward Kincaid of Barstow, California; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Velva) Stout, Mrs. Sal (Doris) Fasanelli, Mrs. (Ethel) Nolte, all of Fort Madison, and Mrs. A.J. (Susie) West of Los Angeles, California; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son in infancy, one brother and one sister in infancy, one sister, and one nephew.

The funeral was held Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m. in the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. Pastor Jim Rozendaal officiated. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington.

Memorials to the E.M.T. Unit of the Farmington Fire Department may be left at the funeral home.
