David S. Caviness

David S. Caviness, son of Jerry and Agatha Theobald Caviness, was born March 3, 1947 at Sherburn, Minn. and died Sunday, June 5, 1983 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 36.

He lived near Afton, Iowa and moved with his family to Van Buren County in 1969, having lived in Douds and Keosauqua, and moved to Luray, Mo. recently.

On Jan. 5, 1980 he married Alice Miller Edwards. She remaings along with two sons, Lloyd and Jerry, a daughter, Dawn, five step-daughters, Tina, Leona, Kathryn, Angel and Jayne Edwards. Also surviving are his parents of Keosauqua, seven brothers, John, Keosauqua; Joseph, San Jose, California; Robert, Douds; Dennis, Bloomfield; James, Kingman, Arizona; Leroy, Keosauqua; and Craig in Arizona; and two sisters, Patricia Perkins, Freeport, Illinois and Kathleen Brockway, Kingman, Arizona, other relatives and friends.

A sister, Carol, preceded him in death.

He was an over the road truck driver for Mack's Trucking Co., Wayland, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 9, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Pittsburg Cemetery. A memorial was established at the funeral home.
