Leo H. Miller

Leo H. Miller, son of Allen and Amanda Brill Miller, was born April 20, 1919, in Keosauqua and died Monday, June 6, 1983 at Ottumwa Hospital at the age of 64.

On Oct. 15, 1943 he married Elizabeth Cole at Ottumwa. She remains with their three sons, Allen, Jack and Harold and daughter Betty Jane Cosgrove, all of Ottumwa, ten grandchildren, a brother, William of Keosauqua, other relatives and friends.

Three sons, Donald, Charles and Melvin, a daughter, Patty, and four brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Miller served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was employed at Ottumwa Bridge and Construction Co. until retiring due to ill health. Most of his adult life was spent in Ottumwa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 8, 1983 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Interment with military rites in charge of Beer-Barker Post 113, American Legion, was in Bethel Cemetery west of Keosauqua.
