Irene M. Summers

Mrs. Irene M. Summers, 85, of Memphis, Mo., died Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 1983 in the Bloomfield, Iowa Care Center.

She was born Jan. 8, 1898, in Scotland County near Azen, a daughter of Harlan and Cora Rugh Briggs. She married Orlo D. Summers March 27, 1927, in Azen. He died in 1981. The couple lived on a farm north of Memphis 50 years before moving to Memphis. She had been a resident of Bloomfield Care Center the past two years. She was a member of the Azen Christian Church, later transferring membership to Brock United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Orlo Dwayne of St. Louis; a daughter, Francis Robeson of Hampton, Minn., a brother, Pear Biggs of Memphis; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a sister and a granddaughter.

Services were held on Sunday, March 27, 1983 in Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, the Rev. Kenneth Campbell conducting. Burial was at Memphis Cemetery.
