Rolla V. Barker

Rolla V. Barker, 81, son of the late John and Mertis Cupp Barker of Keosauqua, was found dead in his apartment at 4550 W. Ninth Ave., Denver, Colo., on Dec. 27, 1982.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 30, 1982 in Fort Collins, Colo., at the Goodrich Chapel with Rev. Henry H. Baker officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

He was born here in Van Buren County on March 18, 1901, and lived in Keosauqua as a boy.

He moved from Iowa in 1935 to Red Feather Lakes, Colo., where he lived until 1962. Mr. Barker then moved to Loveland, and later to Denver.

He worked as a weights and measures official for the state of Iowa while he lived here. Mr. Barker was a rancher and a lumberman in Red Feather Lakes, Colo.

He married Melba West in 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa. They were divorced. She lives in Fort Collins.

Mr. Barker married Mildred DeLeve in 1957 in new Mexico. She died in 1971.

Other survivors are: a son, Gene of Fort Collins; a step-daughter, Jean Neet of Loveland; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Care of Goodrich Mortuary.
